
Organization at a glance
Deaf Youth Development Association is a Deaf Peoples Organization (DPO) working in Netrokona district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 01 January 2013 being started involving 17 persons with hearing and speech disabilities with support from Own Initiatives now the organization has total 98 members; among them male 91 and female 07 The organization implements its activities ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities.
According the bylaws of the organization there are 98 members in its General Committee and 11 members are in the Executive Committee. The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director.
Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote rights of persons with disabilities and improving their lives with supports from government and non-government organizations. Besides, the organization is striving for partnership with the mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
